How can I get my story to scroll across the Top Stories ticker? |

Easy, add a story. All new stories are Top Stories. We currently scroll the most recent five stories at a time. |

How can my story be featured? |
| A. |
Stories which include at least one photo -and- at least one video -and- are amongst the highest rated will automatically become featured stories. We currently feature up to ten stories at a time. |

Are there any restrictions on the size and quantity of my uploaded image files? |
| A. |
You may upload photo images not exceeding 3 Megabytes each. There are no other restrictions at this time. |

How do I stop the featured story from scrolling? |
| A. |
You may stop the featured story from scrolling by clicking once on the number below the story which you want to be displayed. You may also stop and go back to display the previous story by clicking once on the ‘Previous’ link. You may restart the scrolling by clicking again on any number or the ‘Previous’ or ‘Next’ link. |

How do I edit my story after it has been published? |

1) Login and go to My Account Page; 2) Click on the 'Manage Stories' link; 3) Click on story title which you want to edit, and then you can edit the story. NOTE: Stories will not be editable after they have been published for seven (7) days. |

Do you edit the content of my stories after it has been published? |

IWASTHERE.COM reserves the right to edit or remove stories. However; before we do so, we will contact you via email. We may also edit your Metadata. We encourage you to proofread and spell-check your stories and blogs before submission. Email us at editing@iwasthere.com with your editing concerns. |

Why did the date/time and time zone of my story change when I published it? |

The story and blog content on IWASTHERE.COM originates from around the world. All stories and blogs are automatically adjusted to Eastern Time (UTC/GMT -05:00) which is our time zone here in Washington, DC. Example: If you publish a story or blog at 12:00 Noon PST (UTC/GMT -08:00), Los Angeles' time zone, the resulting published time will be 3:00 PM EST (UTC/GMT -05:00). Another Example: If you publish a story or blog from India at 9:00 AM Wednesday, February 4, 2009 IST (UTC/GMT +05:30), the resulting published time will be 10:30 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 EST (UTC/GMT -05:00) as EST is 10:30 hours behind IST. Click on the Time Zone Map link at the top of the Home Page for more details on time zones, including 'standard' and 'daylight savings' times. |

What does UTC/GMT mean? |

UTC = Coordinated Universal Time and GMT = Greenwich Mean Time. These are both time zones; are both the same; and are both equivalent to 00:00. Click on the Time Zone Map link at the top of the Home Page for more details on time zones, including 'standard' and 'daylight savings' times. |

What is Metadata? |

Simply put, these are keywords a/k/a tags which you may put into the appropriate field under your story editor. These keywords, if searched via a search engine, may provide a link to your story page. |

May I place hyperlinks and/or images in the body of my blog/story? |
| A. |
We do allow hyperlinks in the body of stories/blogs. Follow these steps: 1) Highlight the word(s) you want hyperlinked; 2) Click on the Insert/edit link button, five buttons to the right of the Bold button; 3) Insert your Link URL in the top field Example: http://www.insert-your-link-here.com; 4) Requirement: Change Target to read: Open in new window (_Blank); and 5) Click the Insert button. We do not allow images to be placed in the body of blogs/stories. We encourage you to upload your photos and videos to be displayed in the designated section of your story. Please observe the Terms of Use. |

How do I get my photograph to display on the Home page? |

You are able to rearrange the order of the photographs in your photo album. You can do this by clicking on the 'Photo List' link from within the story editor. Its the #1 photo that will be displayed on the Home page. |
