We set off for the mall in D.C. at 2:30 AM got there around 3. It was probably the coldest I've ever been and the wait seemed to keep dragging on. But when it all finally started and the excitement of the historic event set in, it was all worth it. It was amazing to think that of all the inaugurations in the history of our country, this was one of the most historic. The sense of family that was all around us and unity and peace was a feeling like none other. I had worked as a field organizer during the '08 campaign for Obama. And being there and seeing all that hard work pay off was very satisfying and humbling at the same time. I loved the experience, and if i had the choice i would do it all over again. Hope is alive!
