This was the most remarkable event I have experienced since I graduated from college. There I was in a sea of calm excited people from all over the world. To hear his words, to see his energy, to feel his spirit, and watch this bright, intelligent, charismatic man of many cultures become the president of USA. I have 2 friends that made this day happen as I was let go from my position as an online coordinator and teacher for an online high school in Aprill of 2008. My colleagues, who were also let go joined me in creating a new school, but business has bee slow due to a hurricane and then the ailing economy, we are having problems obtaining a loan. So I no funds to get me there,not money for food, gas or even subway fare, but I have a wonderful cousin who lives in DC and said the 2 friends and I could stay with her and 7 others who would be sharing her home. My 2 friends footed the bill and we drove from the "minus 14 degree" weather of Minnesota to the magificent Capitol Mall.
I thank these 3 wonderful people for making this day happen for me. |
